The 2nd episode of the Conference from the 'Designing the Future' cycle took place on 4 - 5 March, 2015. Its leading subject was the BIM technology. Speakers and exhibitors focused on the presentation of advanced solutions to support designers and contractors at each stage of implementation of building projects.

More than 120 participants could benefit from specific knowledge offered by eight exhibitors and over 20 speakers from the entire world. The Conference attracted the employees and the founders of the leading design offices and contracting companies as well as the university students.

Mitch Boryslawski, founder of View by View and EcoDomus companies, gave the opening presentation. " I was invited by Konfoteka to come to Poland and present my technology, the know-how used by my company. I believe I managed to tell a few words about the future of BIM. It was an exciting experience. I would like to thank once again Konfoteka - it was a honour to take part in this event ", Mitch Borysławski, told. The majority of guests had already taken part in the first conference last year.

Jakub Kulig, BIM Manager at Robobat, Poland, shared his impressions with us:

A very successful conference on a remarkably high level, obviously better than the first one, with many companies and interesting presentations. The level of awareness of BIM model application seems increasing. A noteworthy motive, since we have already implemented the first Polish BIM projects; there are lots of companies here, not only designers, but also contractors, and such meetings are much in want to prove we wish for developing this system in Poland and desire to advance the designing processes. The only negative aspect I feel must be brought up now is that we lag behind Europe … Europe keeps ahead of us, and I'd even say it keeps pushing things ahead whereas our authorities do nothing to catch up with the rest of the continent. I'd rather they took part in such meetings as active contributors rather than wait for the results to impose the regulations. I do hope the level of the event will keep growing

'Designing the Future' means more than presentations. The viewers could also see and show interest in practical use of laser scanners presented by Faro Company. A special evening dinner closed the first day of the Conference, allowing the participants continuing the discussions entered into on the coffee breaks. Compared with the last occasion, the operators invited more visitors from abroad this year. " To visit Cracow is a sensation: such beautiful a city and such amazing an event. This conference creates the future. The organisation is perfect and the level of enthusiasm and energy we felt all the time are more than fantastic. BIM has a gigantic future in Poland ", David Miller, said.

The workshop conducted by Maciej Dejer and Wojciech Gawinowski crowned the second day of the Conference. This intensive course also met with high interest and crowds of students filled the halls in spite of late afternoon hours.

In just two days, the participants in the Conference could become familiar with the present market offer of software manufacturers and of the experience collected by Polish companies and multinational corporations in their works on the development, implementation, and management of projects based on the newest BIM technologies.

The 2nd Conference attracted more visitors than the first one, which confirms the need to organise cyclic meetings of participants in the investment process, who would like to exchange experience from implementation of the technology that has made a revolution in their everyday work.

We would like to invite you just now to join the third event of this cycle. It will take place again at Holiday Inn Jozefow near Warsaw on 6 - 7 April, 2016.
